#03, Picture of Killer Litter

Hello Everyone!

Wishing all teachers a very happy teacher's day!

Anyway, on the journey back to my primary school, i took the opportunity to take a picture of (very dangerous!) killer litter.

This is one common example of Killer Litter.
Though it is unlikly that the bamboo pole (with the clothes) and the bird cage will drop on any of your heads, there is still a chance! Though I think that the bird in the cage might suffer from more shock than any of you. Hopefully you all will open your eyes, and watch out for killer litter! Please do not hang out your clothing/bird cages in such an irresponsible manner, because not only will you lose your precious bird or a few clothes, someone might just lose their life.

#02, Penalties

PENALTIES!

#1,

- HDB can take summons action against residents if they don't care about the written notice from HDB to remove objects placed in a dangerous manner.

- If convicted, they can be fined up to $2000 (that's the max!). If they still don't remove the object(s), they can be fined further at $100 PER DAY, as long as the offence cont'ds!

#2,

- Residents who are convicted under the Penal Code for an offence relating to throwing of killer litter are liable to a maximum fine of $1,000/- or a maximum jail term of 2 years, or both.

3.

- HDB may claim your flat or terminate the tenancy of the flat that you rented!

And... Something from Mr Mah Bow Tan

"Mah said a government campaign to educate residents apparently failed because of a series of incidents this year (2000), including the death of a five-year-old girl in April after being hit by a hurtling flower pot.

"When our words fall on deaf ears, it would be totally irresponsible for the HDB (Housing Development Board) not to react and do something to minimise the chances of someone getting hurt or killed," he said.
"The punishment is severe, I am not denying that. But it is harsh for the reason that we want to deter such offenders."

Hope you all understand now!

Hello Everyone! This is an extract from Punggol.sg Forum!
From this, our team can already see that there are lots of people aware of the problem of
killer litter in the respective living estates. Hopefully you can alert each other if you spot anyone irresponsibly throwing litter out of the windows, just to be safe!

Killer Litter at Blk 126A Badminton Court
« on: July 12, 2006, 03:40:32 PM »
Hi! Did anyone play badminton or sepak takraw at the said badminton court. If you are pls pls pls pay attention to this killer litter from the block. Although I'm aint a victim to the heartless "killer" but i did witnessed several times the litter just flew from there and landed on the badminton court. Sadly i dont know which floor the "killer" make his/her move but roughly can figure out the units (2 units) in mind though . If you walking that area pls keep a look out for that its really dangerous that someday someone will get hurt bcos of the "killer" that conveniently disposed his/her rubbish just off the window and flew down to the innocent passer-by below the void deck. Usually the litters thrown were food and not those electronic gadgets or what. If i really knows who the "killer" is I'm sure to lodge a complaint to the Police to take action

another eg wld be if you happened to walk past there do take note of any rubbish on the badminton court. That is the food that always landed there and swamp of birds will crowded there to feed on it. The birds is becoming a regular sights nowsaday. So dont think is some good samaritans that bring down those unfinished food and left it there to feed stray cats/dogs or animals the food are flew down from the block.

not only the badminton court, under the voiddeck (behind the bus stop), also got rice thrown on the ground to feed the birds. thereafter, lots of bird shit left.
